With Half Term in full swing, we thought we’d sum up some of The Wittering and Bracklesham Bay’s best Half Term ideas for kids, family and friends.
Hunt for Fossils
Head out at low tide from Bracklesham Bay (on our doorstep) to hunt for fossils. Bracklesham Bay is word famous for its unique collection of ancient, natural artefacts. You can read more about the treasures that can be found here.
Give Water Sports a go
Whether it’s flat calm and you head out on a paddle board or give surfing a try in the swell, Bracklesham Bay is the place to go for water sports. When the conditions are right, you can head out for lessons with a local expert or on calm days, grab a cheap body board and enjoy some time in the waves. Visit West Wittering Beach
The car park at West Wittering beach can be a total nightmare, but if you part at Billy’s, grab a takeaway coffee and cake and walk along the beach you’ll reach East Head in around 25 minutes. It’s a much better way of visiting the famous beach. You can reward yourself with a delicious lunch when you return!
Rainy day archeology
If the rain has come to visit, why not head indoors to the Roman Palace at Fishbourne which was accidentally discovered workmen digging in 1960 – low and behold, a previous Roman military base that was turned into a palace by the end of the first century was found – a truly unique sight. Enjoy the local village buzz
With lots of independent shops, such as Lucy Armstrong’s chocolate shop to two incredible local butchers for holiday BBQs, there’s always lots going on in East Wittering village, morning, day and night – it’s well worth a visit!
Head to world famous Goodwood
An incredible set up, beautiful scenery and a family day out, when Goodwood holds a racing event, be it horse or motor car, you’ll be in for a treat. Check out what’s on here.
