At Billy’s, we’re passionate about serving the freshest local ingredients. That’s why all of our fruit and vegetables comes from Munneries, our local village greengrocer in East Wittering, West Sussex. With the Autumn Equinox taking place tomorrow, Wednesday 22 September, we thought we’d share some of Autumn favourites as they come into season in the coming weeks. You’ll be sure to see some of these on our specials board this Autumn!
What’s in season?
- Butternut squash (a favourite ingredient of ours in our winter curries)
- Carrots (often overlooked, but SO delicious)
- Leeks
- Pumpkin
- Runner Beans
- Spinach
- Rocket (another hot favourite in our Billy’s salads)
- Watercress
- Shallots
- Corn on the Cob (often thought of as a summer BBQ side dish, but most delicious at this time of year!)
We’ll be adding some winter warmers to our menu in the coming weeks, along with the return of our locals events from early October so stay tuned.
