Whatever the weather, man’s best friend needs a daily walk and there is nothing better than a romp on Bracklesham Beach. When the tide is out, there is a huge expanse of sand, perfect for ball or stick throwing, and exposed wooden groynes for a spot of dog agility.
And when the tide is high, it’s doggy heaven for the water-loving retrievers and spaniels. And plenty of sniff-tastic seaweed for those breeds which prefer to keep their paws dry.
You can walk along the shore line to East Wittering and back, a trek that will take about 20 minutes each way – enough time to tire out your mutt so you can enjoy a hot drink or snack here at Billy’s.
There is plenty of pooch parking if you want to tie the lead of your wet pooch to the leg of one of our many picnic tables while you pop into peruse the menu. Or we welcome well-behaved dogs in the café if you can’t bear to be parted. We provide water bowls, and doggy treats are given as a reward for good behaviour.
From Thursday to Saturday we are open until 9pm, so imagine unleashing yourself and your dog on the beach for a sunset walk, then back to us for a glass of wine and a plate of our famous beer-battered fish and chips.
*Bracklesham Bay is a popular dog walking beach, but pets need to be kept on a lead in the area directly in front of the café, and, of course, kept under control at all times.
Please pick up after your dog – there are plenty of poo bins along the beach and even one in our car park.
